Well this book started with the dismissing of the old Major League Comissioner and the hiring of the new commissioner, Bud Selig. Almost immediatly after his hiring the strike in 1994 started ending the season causing there to be no world series. Then all of a sudden superstars started to rise with unbeleivable numbers. Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire, Barry Bonds, Jose Canseco, Jason Giambi, Ken Griffey Jr. and Frank Thomas. Eventually Ken Griffey Jr. proved to be the only steroid free player. Also because of these players offensive dominance pitchers began to struggle. Through the late 1990's for the first time players started to weigh lift before and during the season. Also the players hired personal trainers and chefs. During this time period players also began to use legal muscle building drugs like creatine and andro. But when they realized the side effeacts outweighed the positive. They looked for something bigger and better and steroids were the answer and the record books were erased and new players began taking over with new sorts of power. But around 2004 through drug testing and confessions of players and trainers it seemed that this issue was finally over with, is baseball finally back in line?
